Fundraiser set for first responders

OGDEN — The Fraternal Order of the Eagles is throwing a fundraiser to thank Top of Utah first responders.

The order, in conjunction with the Northern Utah Community Support Group, is holding a fundraiser Saturday at 975 Wall Ave. The event is meant to support all first responders, though the proceeds will be donated specifically to the Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force.

The organizers believe donating the money to the multi-agency strike force best distributes the funds to several of the departments involved in the Jan. 4 shootout that killed one officer and wounded five others.

The fundraiser starts at 4 p.m. and will feature a Mexican food buffet with music, dancing, a raffle and an auction. The event costs $10, which includes cover and a meal, and $5 for children 12 years old and under.
