Layton collecting sports equipment

LAYTON — The Layton Parks and Recreation Department is collecting used baseball and softball equipment that will be distributed to those in need. The collection is part of the third annual Geni Hyde Equipment Exchange Program for baseball and softball equipment and clothing.

All types and sizes of equipment are needed, including mitts, cleats and pants. Equipment must be clean and free of stains, rips and tears.

The exchange will be held from noon to 2 p.m. March 24 at the Central Davis Junior High School gym, 663 North Church St. Families are invited to pick up needed items for the upcoming baseball and softball season.

Donations will be accepted at the Layton City Parks and Recreation Office, 465 N. Wasatch Drive, through March 23. For any questions call the Parks and Recreation Department at 801-336-3900.
