State titles for Rabbits, Eagles, Rams

OREM -- It was a tough final day for Top of Utah wrestlers at the state 3-A wrestling championships.

While Delta claimed the state title over Payson, Bear River finished seventh to lead area schools in finals action at Utah Valley University's UCCU Center.

The Bears' Keanyn Zundel finished second at 220 pounds, losing to unbeaten Brian Scott of Hurricane in the final.

Bear River teammate Dominic Kinder was third at 120, while Dalyn Bingham was fifth at 160, and Nickolas Bingham and Brady Haramoto each claimed sixths at 106 and 113, respectively.

Morgan's Kade Carrigan finished sixth at 145 pounds.

Delta won with 226 pounds, followed by Payson (215), Uintah (169.5) and Wasatch (132.5). Bear River (105) was seventh, with Morgan 19th.

In the 2-A finals, Millard (249) blew past North Sevier (210.5) and Beaver (175).

In the 1-A finals, Altamont repeated with 183 points, followed by Monticello (169.5) and Panguitch (146).
