OGDEN — Dea Millerberg waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday in an appearance in 2nd District Court on the latest charges she faces. She is accused of one count of third-degree felony abuse or desecration of a dead body for allegedly moving the body of 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen after she died. Millerberg was accompanied to court by her aunt and uncle and her attorney, Mike Bouwhuis. All declined comment, with Millerberg walking silently past TV news cameras without pause or comment as she has in all her court appearances. A pretrial conference was set for April 25, the same date as her next appearance on charges of child endangerment and prescription drug fraud unrelated to Rasmussen’s death. She is free on bail. Millerberg’s husband, Eric, faces charges of child abuse homicide, obstructing justice, unlawful sexual activity with a minor and abuse or desecration of a dead body in the Rasmussen case. He is in state prison on unrelated charges. His preliminary hearing is set for April 9 before Judge Scott Hadley. Dea Millerberg is set for trial May 24 and 25 before Judge W. Brent West on the drug charges, with the other cases to be considered after the drug trial.
