Ogden man busted for drugs in Oregon

KLAMATH FALLS, ORE. — An Ogden man was released from an Oregon jail Thursday after police say they arrested him on suspicion of having 28 pounds of drugs.

An Oregon State Police trooper pulled over William Joseph Ray Patton, 33, for speeding eastbound on Highway 140 near Klamath Falls on Tuesday afternoon.

During the stop, the trooper discovered more than 12 pounds of marijuana and about 16 pounds of hashish, another form of cannabis, in the bed of the man’s 2010 Nissan pickup, according to an OSP news release.

Patton was arrested and booked in Klamath County Jail on suspicion of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance. The estimated value of the marijuana is $32,500, while the value of the hashish is $140,000, officials say.

The OSP Drug Enforcement Section is continuing the investigation.
