Need for matching grants sought

The city is hoping to reap the benefits from matching grants to help with marketing and professional development.

The city council recently approved applying for the EDCUtah Community Match Grant Program, which provides marketing and professional development assistance funds. The funds can be used for marketing, event sponsorship, and professional development.

They are 50/50 grants that would essentially pay half the project costs. The city hopes to get the $5,000 maximum grant for marketing and the $800 matching grant for professional development, according to the city council agenda information for the resolution.

This move was approved by the council, and staff is now working on the application.
