Morgan allocates $55K for airport

MORGAN — The Morgan County Council recently approved a $55,000 allocation to match a $550,000 state of Utah AERO grant.

Funds will be used to pave the taxi area sleeves at the county airport.

The county’s 10 percent match will be taken from the general fund. The council had until April 1 to approve the funds.

“The airport has such a tremendous value to the county, and could provide potential revenues when the airport is fully developed,” County Councilman Don Mathews said.

Councilman Robert Kilmer agreed, saying, “The county has very few areas set aside for business development. The more upgrades we do to improve (that area), it will increase the chances to increase development in the county.”
