DRAPER-- A lack of snow in Utah this winter is taking its toll on people who remove the white stuff for a living.
Russ Kimball of Kimball Property Management is calling this winter the worst he's seen in 28 years of business. His Draper-based company is called Utah's largest snow removal contractor, and clearing the snow accounts for about 40 percent of its business.
Kimball tells the Deseret News (http://bit.ly/wVSDGg ) snow removal demand is down about 80 percent, and says he worries about the families of the 350 contractors he usually employs in the winter.
This year's mild weather comes after an especially stormy one. The National Weather Service says December 2010 was the fifth wettest on record at Salt Lake City International Airport, while December 2011 was the driest.STORY:201202280040Snow removal companies struggle through dry winter/Business/2012/02/28/Snow-removal-companies-struggle-through-dry-winter.html-1
