Oil companies gauge us, still get tax subsidies

Editor,

Remember when the oil companies used to blame the gas prices on supply and demand? Well, that went out the window when the U.S. started using less every month but the prices still rose. Then I found out that the oil companies are selling the gas they make from U.S. sources to other countries because they can get more for it. What? Why are we allowing them to drill on our land and then sell it to others when the price is so high for us? Under this policy, more U.S. production wouldn't help the prices go down at all.

On top of this wrong, we are also giving these companies almost $5 billion a year. Why? As far as I'm concerned, all of our current elected leaders need to be replaced starting with our spineless president.
