2 die in Tuesday night I-15 crash

CLEARFIELD — Authorities have identified an Ogden father and son who were killed in a crash on snowy Interstate 15 north of Clearfield.

The 63-year-old Jorge Revilla and his 29-year-old son Cristopher Revilla were killed Tuesday night when the father lost control and crossed the median.

The men’s 2000 Ford Focus was then broadsided by an oncoming semi-truck.

Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Todd Johnson says both men in the car were wearing seat belts but were killed instantly.

The 53-year-old driver of the semi wasn’t injured.

Johnson says investigators are still determining if speed was a factor.

The southbound lanes of I-15 were closed in the area for about three hours while troopers investigated. The roadway was open again late Tuesday.
