Bountiful power company sells transformers

The Bountiful City Light & Power Company has sold three old transformers to a regional company for $58,000.

The transformers have all been replaced during the utility’s upsizing during the past four years, according to Allen Johnson, director of BCL&P.

The city council authorized the sale of the equipment to Mountain West Transformer during a recent meeting. Any financial transactions of more than $10,000 for the city-owned utility requires council action.
