Editor,
The last week of February was quite a week to celebrate with WSU Storytelling Festival and Treehouse Children's Museum's birthday. Our community is incredibly fortunate to have such rich literary resources.
Treehouse has provided enjoyment and learning experiences for children and families for 20 years. Treehouse was named one of the "Top 50 Children's Museums in the Nation" by Child Magazine and many times has been recipient of prestigious general operating support awards from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. What a treasure in our community! Treehouse just keeps growing quality happenings.
This is the 16th year that WSU Storytelling Festival has given us the enjoyment of national storytellers, Utah storytellers, and student storytellers. This is a gift to the community to relish in the richness of story as well as invite the personal storyteller in each of us to start talking.
The Ogden School Foundation's annual Fall Author Event is another unique opportunity for exposure to national and international award-winning authors. For the past 15 years, the Ogden School Foundation has brought authors to Ogden, many of whom have received the prestigious Pulitzer Prize Award to speak with students and the community. The Fall Author Event has enhanced the Ogden community with access to some of the world's greatest minds and given students life-changing experience.
Weber County Library continually offers events and programs that give us the chance to be enriched and connected with good words and good people.
Thank you to the numerous sponsors who provide financial and in-kind backing to make these opportunities happen. Thank you to these superb organizations and the people involved for all the energy and efforts that create such superior occasions.
Ogden has an abundance of opportunity to enrich our lives with remarkable literary events. Most are available for little or no cost. Don't miss out on these great experiences. Reach out and enjoy what is here for the taking.
