SALT LAKE CITY -- Authorities are accusing a 28-year-old Salt Lake City man of assaulting his live-in girlfriend and holding her against her will for 13 days.
A warrant for Christopher James Hare's arrest was issued Thursday. He's been charged in 3rd District Court with felony aggravated kidnapping and felony aggravated assault.
Hare's girlfriend told police he punched her in the face several times during an argument Feb. 17. She said that after she returned from the hospital Feb. 20, Hare refused to let her leave.
Court documents show Hare asked his girlfriend's friend to pick her up March 4 so he wouldn't hurt her, but said he'd need her back and had to keep her with him to avoid going to jail.
A doctor said the woman had a fractured jaw and ribs.
