FARMINGTON -- Four men were charged on Friday with gang-related rioting after incidents in February at Davis County Jail.
Lamphong Phommavong, 33, James Alexander, 32, Joseph Vigil, 24, and Ezekiel Wily, 23, were all charged as co-defendants with rioting, a third-degree felony, in 2nd District Court.
All of the men are known gang members who are suspected of fighting with several correctional officers at Davis County Jail on Feb. 23, according to a probable cause statement from the Davis County Sheriff's Office.
During the fight, two people assaulted the correctional officers, the probable cause statement reads.
The court documents do not indicate what started the fight or detail any injuries.
A fifth man who investigators also suspect to be involved in the riot will be charged in federal court because he was a federal prisoner, said Davis County Sheriff's Sgt. Susan Poulsen.
