Construction worker trapped after wall topples

KAYSVILLE — A 29-year-old man has been flown to Ogden Regional Hospital after a wall fell on top of him at a construction site Tuesday morning.

Kaysville Fire Chief Brett Larkin said the accident happened just after 8 a.m. at about Nicholas Road and Main Street.

Construction workers are building condominiums in the area, Larkin said.

The man, along with several others, were putting up a full-size wall about 25 feet long on the second floor when a gust of wind caught the wall and knocked it over, trapping the man underneath it, Larkin said.

Dozens of workers came to the aid of the man and removed the wall before paramedics arrived, Larkin said. The man was complaining of chest and spinal pain.

Larkin said they are not releasing the man’s name at this time.
