PRICE -- A 41-year-old Price man has pleaded guilty in a shooting that injured a Carbon County deputy last year.
Gary Hinkins pleaded Monday to five felony counts of attempted murder. Prosecutors dropped two other felony counts in exchange for the plea.
Authorities started searching for Hinkins in February 2011 after his wife was admitted to a hospital and said her husband had beaten her.
Hinkins locked himself in an RV near his home, and prosecutors say he fired a shotgun through the walls and windows at the police who'd surrounded the vehicle.
Deputy Michael Hreinson was struck in the leg and torso. He was treated and released.
Hinkins was captured when he ran from the RV. He faces one to 15 years in prison on each count at sentencing May 29.
