SALT LAKE CITY -- The owner of a pug that was found dead in its Salt Lake City yard says he believes the dog was beaten so hard with a bat or pipe that its teeth came out.
Bill Dimmick tells ABC 4 (http://bit.ly/zKMHnI ) he discovered his dog, named Diesel, on Monday morning. Dimmick says the pug was about 10 years old and provided comfort and companionship to him.
He says it hurt to encounter the gruesome scene of his dog and the missing teeth, and says he can't understand why anyone would kill his gentle pet.
Animal Services is investigating the incident, but no suspects have been identified.
