FARMINGTON — Station Park continues to add new stores, with Gordmans Inc. the latest to open.
Gordmans, an apparel and home fashion retailer based in Nebraska, opened its doors to shoppers Thursday. The official grand opening will be Friday, but shoppers are getting an early look at the new store.
“We’re very excited to have them join Station Park and have them as one of anchors,” Debby Lamotte, Station Park’s general manager, said of Gordmans.
“They’ve been great to work with, and we’re looking forward to a successful relationship.”
Gordmans also opened a new store in South Jordan on Thursday, giving the retailer its first locations in Utah.
“We look forward to welcoming into our stores the Farmington and South Jordan community members, and other Salt Lake City area residents,” said Jeff Gordman, president and CEO.
Lamotte said Gordman officials feel the area is a perfect fit for their stores.
That feeling, she said, goes both ways.
“Adding a store like Gordmans is perfect (for Station Park),” Lamotte said.
As part of the grand-opening celebration, Gordmans will present checks for $2,500 each to the Davis Education Foundation and the Jordan Education Foundation to launch Partners in Education fundraising events in conjunction with the weekend’s grand-opening festivities.
Since its involvement with Partners in Education, which began in 2000, Gordmans has contributed more than $978,000 to public school systems in 17 states throughout the country.
The Farmington Gordmans chose Eagle Bay Elementary School as its partner school.
With the opening of the two new stores in Utah, Gordmans now operates 77 stores in 17 states.
