NORTH SALT LAKE- Police are investigating the discovery of the nude body of man found Sunday morning next to FrontRunner tracks in North Salt Lake as a suspicious death.
A FrontRunner worker spotted the body at about 7:30 a.m. near 1800 North and Beck Street and then notified authorities, said Sgt. Mitch Gwilliam of the North Salt Lake Police Department.
The man, who has not been identified, does not appear to have sustained any obvious signs of significant trauma or have injuries consistent with being struck by the FrontRunner, Gwilliam said in a phone interview from the crime scene.
The age and race of the victim has not been determined.
The body had not been removed from the location near the tracks Sunday afternoon. Officials from the North Salt Lake City Police Department, the Davis County Sheriff's Office, the Utah Attorney General's Office, and the state Medical Examiner's Office were still collecting evidence from the scene.
Police are attempting to determine how the body ended up by the tracks, Gwilliam said.
