Trio of unbeatens at chariot racing world championships

OGDEN — A trio of first division teams remained undefeated after two rounds of action at the 2012 World Cutter and Chariot Racing Championships Sunday afternoon at the Weber County Fairgrounds race track.

Utah state champion Ekstrom and Gift won its race in 22.36 seconds, the fastest time of the day on a crisp, cool afternoon of action. KBG won its second race in 22.56, while Parkinson and Johnson, the Idaho state, champion, ran in 22.57.

The three will square off next Friday, when the third round of world competition resumes. The winner earns a day off Saturday and will run in next Sunday’s champ-ionship dash for the title.
