NORTH SALT LAKE — North Salt Lake police have identified the man whose nude body was found near FrontRunner tracks early Sunday morning as 27-year-old Brandon J. Taylor, of Salt Lake City.

Taylor, who has a minor criminal history, was identified through law enforcement records, North Salt Lake Police Sgt. Mitch Gwilliam said Monday morning.

An autopsy was to be performed Monday to try to pinpoint the cause of Taylor’s death, Gwilliam said.

A FrontRunner worker notified authorities after spotting the body around 7:30 a.m. Sunday near 1800 North and Beck Street.

Taylor had not been reported missing before the discovery of his body, and his death is being treated as suspicious, Gwilliam said.

Taylor’s body does not appear to have any obvious signs of significant trauma or injuries consistent with being struck by a train, Gwilliam said.

However, the fact that Taylor was found nude is unusual, he said.

“It’s definitely weird.”

Officials from the North Salt Lake Police Department, Davis County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Attorney General’s Office and state Medical Examiner’s Office spent most of Sunday collecting evidence from the site where Taylor’s body was found.
