Roy police plan free class for public

ROY -- The Roy Police Department is planning to offer a free class to inform people about public safety and to dispel myths about law enforcement.

The class would teach people about different types of crimes as well as about personal and home security. The class is also meant to dispel illusions and false expectations the public might have about what the police are capable of, thanks to TV shows like "CSI," said Detective Adam Madsen.

There would also be a lot of opportunities for questions from the public, as Madsen hopes the class will create a dialogue with the audience and build community trust.

Anyone who wants to know more about the class, including times and dates as they are set, can email amadsen84067@gmail.com.
