SALT LAKE CITY -- A 25-year-old Salt Lake City man has been charged with aggravated murder in the shooting death of a Salt Lake County smoke shop owner's son.
Yelfris Sosa-Hurtado was charged Monday. He's set for a court appearance Thursday. It's not clear whether he has an attorney.
Court documents show CJ's Smoke Shop owner Isabel Chavez asked several people who were loitering outside the store March 14 to leave. Police say Sosa-Hurtado became upset.
Authorities say Chavez's 26-year-old son, Steven Guadalupe Chavez, confronted Sosa-Hurtado about disrespecting his father. Sosa-Hurtado left, then returned 20 minutes later.
Police say he shot Steven Chavez in the hand, then followed him into the store and shot him twice in the torso when he took cover behind a counter.
Vladimir Suarez-Campos was also arrested in the shooting.
