There is a war being waged in this country to defeat the president. The Affordable Care Act is the target of the Republicans, even though they put a large number of positive items into that bill. The Republicans are going out of their way to deny that the portions of that act were their ideas and that they are in the best interests of the American public.
The idea of using discriminatory language against women and denying them certain health care is a sure-fire way to influence the defeat of the law that they, the Republicans helped to craft. There are a bunch of old men in that body who think that they have all the answers to all the problems plaguing women, but refuse to allow any women to voice their opinions as to what is really needed in the way of health care. Only a very few of these men are qualified to make those statements and they are not part of the committees that do all of the arguing against the women.
It seems that the Republicans would be in a better position this year if they were to point out what can be done to make the Affordable Care Act work, rather than what doesn't. There are always a thousand reasons why something won't work and never any reasons why it will. The Republicans would be better off to work for the improvements than the total destruction of the bill that they helped to craft in the first place.
