Editor,
I have read articles and heard comments on the news that are negative to Mitt Romney's running for president some believed we should not nominate him as the Republican choice or endorse him because he is LDS, belonging to the Mormon Church.
I think it is about time that other churches and people become educated and get the message that there is no "Mormon" Church. It is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Romney is a Latter-day Saint. Some church groups say that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a cult and is not Christian. If not Christian, why is Jesus Christ's name in the church? Rarely does one find his name in any Protestant or Catholic church, so why is this?
Some say that because Mitt Romney is a member of the LDS religion, we should not elect him to such a high office. I could think of no other person who would be more capable of this office. There would be no tobacco or alcohol in his life, but only the highest of moral standards and integrity. He would be a man of prayer, such as our first president, and would lead the country with honesty and fairness.
Look at his track record of the Winter Olympics held in Salt Lake City, which made money? Also, he did wonders for Massachusetts when he was their governor.
He would be a defender of the Constitution and would bring America back to "One nation under God," which was the reason our great nation was founded first by our founding fathers. Let us set our prejudices aside and look at the true facts. Let virtue and wisdom garnish us to make right choices.
