State senator visits West Point

State Sen. Jerry Stevenson recently visited the city council meeting.

Stevenson acknowledged that he served in the community and remembered the city as he worked to pass legislation during the latest session.

He also complimented Mayor Erik Craythorne about the city’s general plan.

Craythorne asked Stevenson which bills would affect West Point the most.

Stevenson said the billboard revisions for state roads because the West Davis Corridor will run through the city.

The bill did not pass through this year’s session, so Stevenson said he expects to see it reappear next year.

He reminded city officials to review their sign ordinances.
