BOUNTIFUL -- The Bountiful Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a 15-year-old boy Friday night.
Authorities were notified around 9:30 p.m. that Monty Davis, of Bountiful, was unconscious outside of Oak Hills Elementary School at 1235 E. 600 South, Bountiful Police Lt. Sol Oberg said.
Friends of Davis said they were playing night games and that Davis sat down and appeared to fall asleep. They tried to wake him without success.
His friends called 911, and emergency medical personnel and police arrived. They found Davis unresponsive, Oberg said.
A medical helicopter flew the teen to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he was pronounced dead late Friday night.
The cause of Davis' death remains under investigation, but there doesn't appear to be any foul play, Oberg said. An autopsy will be performed to determine why he died.
