Three Ogden Trece members arrested for violating gang injunction

OGDEN — After being stopped for a traffic offense, three Ogden Trece members have been arrested for violating a gang injunction.

The stop occurred at 12:05 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Washington Boulevard, said Police Lt. Scott Conley.

Those arrested and booked into Weber County Jail are Samantha Terrazas, 19, Delite Maes, 24, and Davy Ray Martinez Jr., 26, Conley said.

Maes was the only one who remained in jail Monday, held in lieu of $4,480 bond.

All three had been served previously with the gang injunction and were arrested because they were in each other’s company in the vehicle and were violating an 11 p.m. curfew, Conley said.

Maes had four outstanding warrants, and Martinez had one outstanding warrant.

Enacted in September 2010, the injunction bans Trece members from associating with one another in public, being in the vicinity of drugs, alcohol or firearms and sets a curfew for members of the gang.

The injunction filed by the Weber County Attorney’s Office is the first of its kind in Utah and one of only a few in place in the country, although they have been commonly used in California, and upheld by the courts, for 20 years.
