In the March 1 guest commentary by John Reynolds, "The inconvenience of economic ignorance," Reynolds stated, "When it comes to 'economic ignorance'... no one can hold a candle to U.S. Rep. Ron Paul.... He seems obsessed with bringing down economic institutions and returning to the 'gold standard.'"
The writer was misinformed. Congressman Paul is a brilliant Austrian Economics scholar and champion of a free market; the only economic system that, like the "gold standard," is in harmony with the Constitution. Despite his perfect voting record of defending the Constitution, his campaign has been sabotaged by the neo-con, RINO (Republican-in-name-only) and left-wing establishment media, propaganda. Paul has been labeled "too radical.' Iowa's governor said he would ignore their primary results if Paul won, as Maine did.
Reynolds' "economic institutions" comment was evidently referring to the deceptively named "Federal Reserve" central bank. It is not part of the federal government, but a private international banking corporation that has sought for centuries, "nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country." As Professor Carroll Quigley explained in his book "Tragedy and Hope,"
John Maynard Keynes, advisor to President Roosevelt said: "Lenin was certainly right. There is no more positive or subtle or surer means of destroying the existing basis of society than to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, governments can confiscate secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of the citizens. By this method ... they confiscate arbitrarily, and while the process impoverishes many, it actually enriches some. The process engages all the hidden forces of economics on the side of destruction ... in a manner that not one man in a million can diagnose."
Consequently, the "Federal Reserve" became America's war-financing mechanism after 1913. Americans have been ripped off countless trillions since, and currently owe $15 trillion to this fraudulent unconstitutional bank.
A "central bank" is the fifth plank of the Communist Manifesto, and a blueprint for "destroying the existing basis of society."
