Falling asleep is suspected cause of I-15 rollover in Riverdale

RIVERDALE -- A Brigham City man was injured when the vehicle he was driving drifted off Interstate 15 Wednesday and rolled.

Justin Corey, 30, is suspected of falling asleep at the wheel while driving north on the freeway about 5 p.m Wednesday, said Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson. Corey drifted left, overcorrected and rolled off the right side of the road near Milepost 340 in Riverdale.

He was cited for improper lane travel. Corey was transported to an area hospital but the extent of his injuries was not available.

Rush hour traffic was backed up in both directions while emergency crews responded to the accident.
