OGDEN -- The small oil spill in the Ogden River is now gone, according to the Weber-Morgan Health Department.
Ogden firefighters checked out the oil coming from a storm drain just east of 850 East near Park Boulevard after it was reported about 5 p.m. Thursday. They contained the oil, which Fire Capt. Travis Anderson said appeared to be cooking oil.
The health department checked the site Friday and determined that the oil did not contain hydrocarbons, which are harmful, said department spokeswoman Lori Buttars. Some of the oil had dissipated and the health department collected what remained, she said.
They could not determine where the oil came from, Buttars said.
