Ogden woman dies in Idaho rollover

NAMPA, Idaho — An Ogden woman died in a rollover in Idaho on Monday.

Ogden residents Shawn Sant, 47, and Wendy Hoff, 49, were going west on Interstate 84 in a Dodge Neon when it went off the right side of the road and rolled near mile marker 34, according to an Idaho State Police news release. Officers were dispatched to the accident scene around 8:09 p.m.

Neither Sant, who was driving, nor Hoff were wearing seat belts.

Hoff was ejected from the Neon and died at the scene. Sant was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with minor injuries.

Investigators believe alcohol, speed and distracted driving contributed to the crash. Sant may have been distracted by a small dog that was in the Neon with them, the release states. The investigation is ongoing.
