Bountiful grants full site plan approval

BOUNTIFUL -- City leaders have granted final site plan approval to a mixed use building at 2155 South Orchard Drive.

The building will be located in the partially completed Orchard Pines development and involves a three-story structure with commercial and office uses on the lower two levels and four flat-style residential units on the third floor.

In recent action, the council voted unanimously to give the project the green light, after a concern was raised about the viability of the second floor of the building being occupied, because of the office/commercial application. Aric Jensen, director of planning and economic developer, said Brian Knowlton, the project applicant, had assured him the space would be occupied.

Jensen said brick for the building will blend in with existing town homes adjacent to the structure and parking has been included in the back of the building to deal with potential parking issues.
