PRICE — A captain in the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office is resigning because of charges that he vandalized three cars at an auto dealership.
Guy Adams is submitting his resignation less than a week before an arraignment is scheduled in 3rd District Court in Salt Lake City.
Sheriff James Cordova says the resignation was submitted earlier this week and is effective Friday.
Adams is facing three misdemeanor charges for scratching the vehicles with a key at a South Salt Lake dealership in January.
Authorities say surveillance video shows that Adams was the only person near the vehicles when the scratches were found.
A phone call to the attorney representing Adams has not been returned.STORY:201204110014Sheriff's captain resigns after vandalism charges/frontpage/2012/04/11/Sheriff-s-captain-resigns-after-vandalism-charges.html-1
