FARMINGTON -- A 30-year-old man entered not guilty pleas to eight felonies.
James Lee Ferguson appeared Thursday before Judge Robert J. Dale in 2nd District Court.
He is charged with one count of sodomy on a child, two counts of rape of a child and three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, all first-degree felonies, as well as two second-degree counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to court documents, Ferguson had "inappropriate sexual contact with a minor female" from March 1, 2010, to Dec. 31, 2011.
The sexual contact included intercourse, police say, and Ferguson also took photographs of the girl.
He is currently serving a six-month sentence in Davis County Jail for a conviction of third-degree felony unlawful possession of a financial card.
Ferguson is a registered sex offender. According to the court website, he pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony count of attempted forcible sexual abuse Jan. 3, 2000, and was placed on three years' probation.
