Bishop's assistant to preach at Elim

OGDEN -- Linda Staats, assistant to the Bishop for Youth and Household Ministry for the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will deliver the sermon during the 10 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Elim Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., in Ogden.

The title of Staats' sermon will be "Christ Meets Us Right Where We Are." According to a news release from the church, the sermon will be a fresh look at the church's most famous story of doubt, "Doubting Thomas." The message will explore and celebrate the Good News in this story.

As the focus of Staats' ministry is on children, youth and households, the release states, "she will also lift up the need for authentic, faith-filled adults who can who point to Christ and God's activity in daily life and in the world."
