Police seek man for fishing violation

MORGAN — Police are looking for a man who ran away from them after they found him fishing on private property.

A Morgan County Sheriff’s deputy came across the man fishing on private land, just off Interstate 84 near Stoddard Slough, about 7 p.m. After the deputy learned the man also has warrants for his arrest, he ran away, said Sgt. Jason Lee, who would not identify the suspect.

Deputies searched for him as the sun began to set but had to call it off by 9 p.m. By then, they had searched within about a mile and a half of where he was fishing, Lee said.

He’s described as a man in his early 20s who was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Weber Area Consolidated Dispatch at 801-629-8221.
