During World War II (1941-1945), Union Station saw 150 trains a day pass through on their way to the West Coast with our military troops to go fight in the Pacific. At 105 25th Street, the USO provided entertainment and relief for the troops as they had a few hours to spend in Ogden.
How do I know this? My wife and I read it on a beautiful marker at the Union Pacific plaza at 25th Street and Wall Avenue. On both sides of the marker are historical photos and great information about our wonderful city's truly becoming a Junction City.
Do yourself and your family and friends a favor; drop by and read all about the World War II war years and how Ogden's Union Pacific station was a vital part of the war effort.
