Woman reports attempted rape on Jordan River trail

TAYLORSVILLE -- Taylorsville police are looking for a man who reportedly tried to rape a 22-year-old woman while she was walking her dog on the Jordan River Parkway.

Taylorsville Sgt. Mike Judd says the woman was walking a small dog on a trail about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday when she says a man with a knife grabbed her from behind and tried to assault her.

She says she kicked him and was able to escape. Judd says she has bruises and cuts.

Police described the suspect as a white man in his 30s with short dark hair, about 5 feet 8 inches and 150 pounds. Officials say he was clean shaven and was wearing a black hoodie.
