FARMINGTON -- One defendant entered a guilty plea for his role in burglarizing a computer store, while the second defendant is headed to trial.

Jeremy Walker Blair, 26, of Kaysville, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a third-degree felony, in 2nd District Court on Thursday.

Prosecutors agreed to dismiss a class A misdemeanor charge in exchange for the guilty plea. A sentencing hearing is set for May 31.

A one-day jury trial has been set for Brandon Rock Medell, 33, of Syracuse. Medell, who is charged with burglary and criminal mischief, both third-degree felonies, also appeared in 2nd District Court on Thursday.

Judge Thomas L. Kay scheduled the trial for May 21 in Bountiful. A pretrial conference is set for May 10.

Police said the pair broke the front window of StarWest Computers in Woods Cross on March 6, entered the store and stole about $6,500 worth of computer equipment.

Blair turned himself in to the Davis County Sheriff's Office after he and his father saw a surveillance video of the burglary on a TV news program.

Medell was arrested at his Syracuse home after police used Facebook to link him to Blair.
