Utah man arrested for giving teen tattoo for drugs

EAGLE MOUNTAIN -- A Utah man is in jail for accepting drugs as payment from a 17-year-old for a tattoo that an investigator describes as the worst body art he has ever seen.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports the 23-year-old Eagle Mountain man is in the Utah County Jail Wednesday on suspicion of felony child endangerment and unlawfully tattooing a minor.

Utah law prohibits giving a tattoo to anyone under 18 years old without parental permission.

Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon says the man, who was working independently and wasn't employed by a tattoo parlor, offered the tattoo to the teen in exchange for drugs and medication.

Cannon says the investigator could not determine what the tattoo was supposed to depict.
