ST. GEORGE -- St. George police say they've confiscated more than $1.5 million in spice and another $600,000 of bath salts during a synthetic drug bust.
Police said they've arrested two men and two women so far after serving simultaneous search warrants Wednesday afternoon on a home, a warehouse and smoke shops in St. George and Washington.
The sting came after several law enforcement agencies completed an eight-month investigation into the manufacture and distribution of the illegal substances.
Spice is often marketed as incense, but is dangerous and potentially life-threatening when consumed as a drug. Bath salts are stimulant powders that contain amphetamine-like chemicals.
Officers collected about 200 pounds of spice and more than 56 pounds of bath salt powder in the operation.
