Biggest sports thrill: "Probably my (two) home runs (this season)."
Best advice I've ever received: "My coach just tells me, "Forget about what I did and just make up for it."
Last week: Patterson's play helped guide the Falcons to a 4-0 week with victories over Ogden (16-3) and Cyprus (8-6) with a double-header sweep of East (23-4, 20-5). She is hitting .462 on the season and tied for the team lead with 18 RBIs.
Patterson on her performance: "Things are going better than last year (when the Falcons finished 1-16). Our new pitcher this year (freshman Bailey Douglas) has given our infield a lot of confidence. I've been working on (hitting) and I played comp ball with a lot of girls on my team over the summer and it helped a lot. I think we can go to state this year and win it."
Coach Nicole Tindall on Patterson: "She's so versatile that we can put her anywhere. Even as a sophomore, her leadership skills have impressed me so much. She's pretty small and petite yet she's strong and can swing hard for the fence."
After high school: "I want to go to college and play softball. I want to be a physical trainer."
