Sand Ridge named a cool school

ROY — Sand Ridge Junior High learned on Friday that it was a winner in the junior high category of Newgate Mall’s My School’s Cool contest.

Sand Ridge won $10,000.

The contest awards points for mall receipts collected in the name of each of the participating six high schools and nine junior highs.

On Thursday, Bonneville High learned it won the top high school prize of $10,000. T.H. Bell junior high also learned it came in second in the junior high category.

More school awards, in the amounts of $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000 will be announced next week.
