SALT LAKE CITY -- A Salt Lake City man will serve up to 15 years in prison for driving the getaway car during a love triangle murder in 2010.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports Friday that 26-year-old Jose Allan Gallegos-Mendoza received the sentence after pleading guilty to second-degree felony manslaughter.
Authorities say Gallegos-Mendoza was driving when Jose Rubio-Navarro was shot while waiting for a ride to work on June 24, 2010.
Authorities say the victim was the husband of a woman with whom the shooter, 28-year-old Jose Adrian Rodriguez-Ramirez, was having an affair. Rodriguez-Ramirez has also pleaded guilty and was previously sentenced to up to life in prison.
Gallegos-Mendoza says he wishes he had never driven the car.
Prosecutors said the shooting was like an assassination, and claimed the driver wasn't remorseful.
