Jordan Garn named UHLA executive director

LAYTON — Layton entrepreneur Jordan Garn has been named as the new executive director for the Utah Hotel & Lodging Association.

Garn is a graduate of the BYU law school and founder of JG Consulting.

“(Garn) brings a unique set of skills that are well-suited to build upon the association’s past success,” UH&LA President Lance Syrett said.

“We are excited to have (Garn) represent the hotel industry to the media, business community and state and local governments.”

“I am honored to be a voice for an industry that is critical to bringing out-of-state business and tourism dollars to the Utah economy,” Garn said in a news release. “I look forward to educating policymakers about the importance of fostering a political and legal environment that allows hotels to continue to be an engine for economic activity.”

Garn replaces Michael Johnson, who has taken a position as CEO of Satori Inc., a Salt Lake City contractor specializing in hotel renovations and improvements.
