Calif. man hurt, wife dies in I-80 rollover

GRANTSVILLE -- A California woman is dead and her husband injured after he apparently fell asleep at the wheel on Interstate 80 through Utah.

The Utah Highway Patrol reports 54-year-old Song Her Vang of Elk Grove died after being ejected from the vehicle a little before 10 a.m. Monday.

Officials say the vehicle drifted off the road around milepost 48 in Tooele County, then overcorrected and rolled on the shoulder.

The 64-year-old driver, Noutoua Vang, told family members on the scene that he had fallen asleep. He was treated for back and neck injuries.

Authorities say the couple's car was the third in a three-vehicle caravan moving from California to Minnesota.
