UTA announces TRAX closures, shuttle bus operation

SALT LAKE CITY-- The Utah Transit Authority says a section of its TRAX light rail system will shut down to the public from Saturday to May 23 as crews work on connections to the new airport TRAX line.
The Deseret News reportsthe 19-day closure will include Planetarium, Old Greek Town and Salt Lake Central Station.
UTA says the closure is needed to complete construction linking the new Airport line to its existing line.
During the closure period, UTA says it will operate bus shuttles for passengers to and from Salt Lake Central Station and the business district.
Officials say during three Jazz playoff games set for EnergySolutions Arena -- May 5, 7 and 11 -- passengers can use FrontRunner to the Salt Lake Central Station, then hop a bus shuttle to and from the arena.
