Riverdale officials say tentative budget looks good

RIVERDALE -- City officials are pleased with many aspects of Riverdale's tentative budget for fiscal year 2012-13.

Riverdale Business Administrator Lynn Fortie recently reported that property taxes are not set to increase.

The general fund will likely see an increase of $80,000 in sales taxes, leading to a $250,460 surplus. The fire department plans to add part-time hours so four firefighters will be on duty 24/7.

Employee medical and dental plan costs rose very little, allowing the city to maintain its funding levels.

The city's park department is adding some summer employment positions.
