OGDEN -- A preliminary hearing scheduled for today for a suspect in the Roy High School bomb plot has been postponed as a new attorney has joined the defense team.
Dallin Todd Morgan, 18, and Joshua Kyler Hoggan, now 17, were arrested Jan. 25 at the school. Both were charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction.
The first-degree felony carries a possible five-to-life prison term.
Former Weber County Deputy Attorney Brenda Beaton, now in private practice, entered her appearance as Morgan's co-counsel last week, joining Pete Lowe and Kristopher Greenwood. As a result, prosecutors have agreed to reschedule today's hearing, according to court records. Today's session before 2nd District Judge Michael Lyon will become a status conference.
A preliminary hearing is a mini-trial to ensure evidence is sufficient to advance a case to trial.
